My house is located adjacent to
Freedom
Park
just off
Highland Avenue
and is a short 5 minute walk to the Center.
It is a modernized turn-of-the-century bungalow.
The space for rent is on the second floor with private fully tiled
bath and walk in shower. There
is a walk-in cedar lined closet with plenty of drawer space. Bathroom also
has lots of drawer space. Furnishings include a queen bed, desk, TV,
lamps, a couple of chairs, couch and carpet. The rent is $700/month and
includes all utilities, cable TV, wireless internet, all bath & bed
linens, and use of laundry room and modern kitchen.
There is off-street parking for 4 cars and a spacious deck in back
in case the intern wants to cook out/entertain. There is no land line
phone service. I would require
$300 as deposit, which would be returned at the end of the rental period.
The lease would be month-to-month.
A side note, I do have a dog of undetermined parentage who does
come inside. If anyone
considering renting has allergies to dogs or fears, this should be taken
into account. Please address
any inquiries to this email address madampfeff@mindspring.com
or by phone 404-966-7344. Sandra

in Inman
Park. The main house has 4 bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, a sunroom, huge
living room with fireplace, library / office, formal dining room,
breakfast room, and a large modern kitchen with lots of cabinet space. In
addition, there is an 8-person hot tub, large deck with patio furniture,
fenced yard, and hardwood floors throughout. There is also a separate
apartment home on the lower level that has its own entrance.
It has 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, living room, dining room / office area,
and kitchen. Both the main
house and the apartment have their own washing machine and dryer and are
fully furnished. The available bedrooms can be furnished or unfurnished.
It is an excellent opportunity for someone to live very nicely with
fantastic housemates and develop new friendships. The rent is $850 a month
for the main house and $725 a month for the apartment.
Either place includes all utilities, cable, high-speed internet /wifi
and bi-weekly house cleaner service. I
can prorate rent as well because I know interns are may have different
time frames while being in town. The housemates are all mature,
conscientious and respectful people in their 20's and 30's. For more
information please contact Tria Kreutzer at triamarie@gmail.com,

The room is available May 1-Sept 1.
$500/month. The apartment is 2 bedroom, one bath. We pay $15/month each
for cable+wireless internet and very little for power (last summer it was
about $15-20 a month each I think). Located in the Inman Park/Little 5
Points neighborhood. Very charming building, hardwood floors, clawfoot
tub. Walking distance from Virginia Highland, Little 5 Points, Inman Park,
the Carter Center and the Inman Park Marta Stop. I am friendly, laid-back,
college educated. I work in the restaurant business (so I work at night 5
nights a week, which is great for someone with a 9-5) and manage the East
Atlanta Village Farmers Market on Thursday evenings and work at the
Peachtree Road Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. I am literally gone on
Saturdays from 6am until 1am (yawn). I have a boyfriend who spends the
night here a few nights a week. He is darling and respectful. I work from
home in the morning usually. I keep a clean-ish house... usually my coffee
mugs pile up but my dishes don't and we keep the living room and bathroom
clean and tidy. If interested,
please email me at katebarney@gmail.com.

Note
on Transportation
For those who do not have personal use of a car
while in Atlanta, here are some things to keep in mind.
1. Atlanta
public transportation system (MARTA) is somewhat more limited than many
other major city systems. The nearest station to The Carter Center is about a 15 – 20
minute walk. There is a bus
stop next to The Center, but ease of bus travel is dependent upon where you
are coming from. To check out
bus routes to and from The Carter Center, you may wish to contact MARTA by
phone (404-848-4711) or via the web site.
Bus routes from Emory University and from Virginia-Highlands tend to
be convenient to The Carter Center.
2. Ideally, it
is best to live within walking or biking distance of The Carter Center;
search for housing in the surrounding neighborhoods (i.e.
Inman Park, Little 5 Points, Poncey –Highlands, Virginia-Highlands, or
some parts of Midtown).
3. Another option is to seek out other interns as
roommates who have a personal vehicle, allowing you to carpool easily.
4. Also, The
Carter Center is located just 4 miles from Emory University were a few
interns and/or staff reside. Again, this is an ideal location for housing,
allowing you to carpool. (Also,
public transportation is an adequate back up from the Emory area.)
