Attention Summer 2010 Interns:   The SIHP (Summer Intern Housing Program) at Emory offers apartment facilities at the state-of the-art Clairmont Campus to student interns each summer. This house is on Savannah St., next to Caroll St. in Historic Cabbagetown.  It is traditionally a shotgun house, but I have renovated it in the last four years, making the bulk of the downstairs a spacious open-floor plan, and turned the upstairs into a cozy and unique bedroom with sound-absorbing, insulating cork floors and tin ceilings.  The upstairs is also insulated with iconene foam, making it airtight and warm all winter. 
Utilities are reasonable, but can be expected to hover between $60 and $175 throughout the year, depending on your habits.  No parking, but I always find a place on the street without any trouble. If you don’t have a car, no problem! You can bike just about anywhere you need to go from here without having to get on major streets. My house is located adjacent to Freedom Park just off Highland Avenue and is a short 5 minute walk to the Center.  It is a modernized turn-of-the-century bungalow.  The space for rent is on the second floor with private fully tiled bath and walk in shower.  There is a walk-in cedar lined closet with plenty of drawer space. Bathroom also has lots of drawer space. Furnishings include a queen bed, desk, TV, lamps, a couple of chairs, couch and carpet. The rent is $600/month and includes all utilities, cable TV, wireless internet, all bath & bed linens, and use of laundry room and modern kitchen.  There is off-street parking for 4 cars and a spacious deck in back in case the intern wants to cook out/entertain.
