Internship Program

FALL (late August – early December) – Deadline: June 15
 
SPRING (mid-January – early May) – Deadline: Oct. 15
 
SUMMER (mid-May – mid-August) – Deadline: March 1



Carter Center interns make vital contributions to the Center's work. In turn, The Carter Center provides a substantive learning experience that serves as a basis for interns to explore their career options and to develop professional skills.

Qualifications

In order to be eligible to apply, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

Interns

Undergraduate Students – Candidates who have completed at least two years of study by the start of the internship.  For example, qualified candidates within the United States will have a minimum of 60 credit hours earned toward their bachelor's degree. 

Recent Undergraduates – Candidates who have completed an undergraduate degree within 24 months of the internship start date. 

Graduate Students – Qualified applicants must be currently enrolled in, but not yet graduated from, a master's-level program.

Recent Graduates – Candidates who have completed a graduate degree within 24 months of the internship start date. 


Graduate Assistants

At the start of the assistantship, qualified applicants must have completed a minimum of two semesters of their academic coursework in a master's-level program.  Candidates who have completed their degree are not eligible.

*There are no age restrictions or citizenship requirements for interns or graduate assistants.
