Justice for the Poor
March 8, 2011
The Carter Center is at the forefront of a growing international movement to find ways to deliver justice to the poor in places like Liberia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, so that all people, not just those who can afford it, can realize their full rights as citizens. Hear about new and innovative practices that are improving access to justice in impoverished and post-conflict countries. Panelists include Tom Crick, associate director of the Carter Center's Conflict Resolution Program; Professor Pamela Scully, professor of women's studies and African studies at Emory University and chair of the Department of Women's Studies; and Stephen C. Lubkemann, associate professor of anthropology and international affairs, Elliot School of International Affairs, George Washington University.
