People in La Bomba barrio, a subdistrict of Dajabón, Dominican Republic, are battling malaria with education and bed nets, thanks to The Carter Center. The effort is part of the Center's Hispaniola Initative, in partnership with the Dominican Republic and Haiti, to help the two countries and their other partners accelerate the elimination of two devastating mosquito-borne infections—malaria and lymphatic filariasis—from Hispaniola.
