Helping Liberia Tackle Stigma and Expand Mental Health Services


Stigma and misconceptions about mental illnesses exist worldwide and are particularly challenging in a post-conflict Liberia that lacks basic mental health services.  The Carter Center is working closely with Liberia's Ministry of Health and Social Welfare to build comprehensive services aimed at reducing stigma and providing family and community support programs to form sustainable mental health care in Liberia.
