Nigeria Shows Disease Can Be Halted
There is no cure for lymphatic filariasis (LF), a disease that permanently disfigures, but The Carter Center and partners have proven that it is possible to stop it from spreading. The program of prevention underway in two Nigerian states has halted transmission of LF in more than one-third of the communities in those states, and is evidence that eradicating the disease is possible.
