Rosalynn and I are pleased to congratulate former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) led by Rajendra Pachauri on receiving the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize. For more than 20 years, Al Gore has tirelessly championed the fight to protect our planet's environment, providing leadership to one of the most pressing issues of our time. The IPCC's wealth of study and research has brought much needed scientific understanding to the threat of global warming. We offer our sincere best wishes and gratitude to Mr. Gore and the IPCC for their continued efforts to slow the damage from climate change and ensure peace and health for future generations.
