Andean-U.S. Dialogue Forum: Toward a Common Agenda for the Andean Countries and the United States (PDF)
An opening product of the Andean-U.S. Dialogue Forum, this report is intended to spur conversations on more effective cooperation by identifying convergences and divergences in priorities among the countries and the citizens of Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia and the United States. It seeks to open the door to a better understanding of the internal dynamics in each country and to reduce stereotypes that impede cooperation to resolve mutual challenges. This report highlights the transnational issues of energy, climate change, trade, and illegal drugs, recognizing that beneficial progress will demand a collective response from all.

Foro de Diálogo Andino-Estadounidense: Hacia una agenda común para los países andinos y los Estados Unidos (PDF)
Como resultado del Foro de Diálogo Andino-Estadounidense, el presente informe tiene por objeto impulsar una cooperación más efectiva al identificar puntos de convergencia y divergencia en las prioridades que tienen los países y ciudadanos de Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Perú, Bolivia y Estados Unidos. El informe busca la forma de abrir las puertas a una mejor comprensión de las dinámicas internas de cada país y reducir los estereotipos que obstaculizan el trabajo conjunto necesario para resolver los desafíos compartidos. Este informe resalta los temas transnacionales de energía, cambio climático, comercio y drogas ilegales, reconociendo la necesidad de una respuesta colectiva para lograr avances que benefician a todos.

Los Grandes Desafios del Periodismo (PDF)/The Great Challenges of Journalism (English translation unavailable)
Con el objetivo de promover el debate y el intercambio de ideas en torno a los grandes temas del periodismo, así como de apoyar el proceso de formación profesional de los comunicadores venezolanos, el Centro Carter ejecutó en Venezuela, a partir del año 2008, el Programa para el Fortalecimiento del Periodismo.
En el marco de dicho programa se ejecutaron una serie de talleres y seminarios sobre diversos temas de interés periodístico, así como un ciclo de conferencias magistrales. Estas últimas, organizadas en forma conjunta con la Corporación Andina de Fomento (CAF) fueron recopiladas en un libro, titulado "Los grandes desafíos del periodismo." En total, se organizaron cinco conferencias, las cuales fueron dictadas por prominentes figuras del periodismo latinoamericano. De esa forma, el libro se concibió como un aporte al proceso de fortalecimiento de las capacidades profesionales de los periodistas venezolanos, así como a la formación de los estudiantes de dicha disciplina mediante el acercamiento a los principales temas y actores del periodismo del siglo XXI.
English:
The Carter Center initiated the Program to Strengthen Journalism in Venezuela in 2008 to promote the exchange of ideas and debate on the overarching issues affecting journalism, as well as support the professional formation of Venezuelan reporters.
The program centered on a series of workshops, seminars, and keynote speeches on diverse topics of interest to media professionals. The keynote speeches, organized jointly with the Andean Development Corporation (CAF), were compiled in a book, Los Grandes Desafios del Periodismo. In total, five conferences were given, each by a prominent figure in Latin American journalism. The book was conceived primarily as a contribution to the process of strengthening the professional capacity of Venezuelan reporters and to provide exposure for journalism students to the principal themes and actors affecting journalism in the 21st century.

Final Report on the Legislation and Oversight Commission in Ecuador (English and Spanish)
With this report, the Carter Center concludes a period that began in December 2007 with the swearing in of the Constituent Assembly. From that time on, the Carter Center published monthly reports covering the work of the Constituent Assembly, and, later, of the Legislative and Oversight Commission (CLF).

Report on the Selection Process for the Members of the Temporary Council on Citizen Participation and Social Control in Ecuador (English and Spanish)
The Carter Center served as one of the international observers that monitored the process of selection, evaluation, appeal and appointment for the members of the temporary Council on Citizen Participation and Social Control (CPCCS). This report covers the selection process of the members of the temporary CPCCS, who assumed office on January 26, 2009. It draws on the observations of the four international observers sent by the Carter Center and their meetings and interviews with key players in the process.

This report provides an account of the process of selecting and naming the temporary representatives of the National Electoral Council (NEC) and the Litigious Electoral Tribunal (LET) that together form the electoral branch as it is described in the Transitional Regime of the Constitution approved by referendum on September 28, 2008.

This report provides dialogue practitioners with conceptual and practical guidelines on the evaluation of dialogue processes by highlighting key lessons learned and introducing preliminary thoughts on a comprehensive framework to systematically evaluate dialogue processes. It shares discussions from the Generative Workshop on Evaluation jointly convened by UNDP and The Carter Center that took place at The Carter Center on Jan. 24-25, 2007.
