Carter Center Observes Challenging DRC Elections, Committed to Country's Long-Term Stability
On Nov. 28, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) held its second democratic multi-party national elections since gaining independence in 1960--the first to be administered solely by the country's election commission. Elections in 2006 were overseen by the United Nations.
