Carter Center Hosts Discussion On Middle East Peace and Private Screening of "Man From Plains"
Nov. 19, 2007
The Carter Center recently hosted a discussion on the situation in the West Bank and prospects for peace in the Middle East, which was opened with a private screening of the documentary film, "Jimmy Carter: Man From Plains."
The film documents former U.S. President Jimmy Carter's 2006 tour for his book "Palestine Peace Not Apartheid."
Following the film, President Carter took questions about his experiences during his book tour. He was joined by the Reverend Munib Younan, bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Palestinian Territories.
Bishop Younan discussed the impact of the conflict on the diminishing Christian presence in the Holy Land and his views on the peace process. The pair also took questions from the audience.
