2018-2019 graduate assistantships are available in the following programs:

China Program

The 2018-2019 China Program graduate assistant will research one of President Carter’s most important political legacies — the establishment of diplomatic relations with China — and examine and monitor the rising anti-China attitude in the United States. Learn more »

Conflict Resolution Program

The Conflict Resolution Program seeks a qualified graduate student to conduct a comprehensive lessons learned assessment of over 10 years of innovative peace-building and violence prevention work in Liberia undertaken by CRP’s Access to Justice project. Learn more »

Democracy Program

The Carter Center's Democracy Program seeks a qualified graduate student to conduct research and analysis related to several projects focusing on indicators and measures for assessing the integrity of elections, both as a whole and through several key individual variables related to election quality. Global Access to Information Program

The Global Access to Information Program seeks a qualified graduate student to assist in research, writing, and programming related to advancing the right of access to information for women. Learn more »

Human Rights Program

The Human Rights Program seeks a qualified graduate student to provide support for work in two areas: assisting with the establishment of a Global Secretariat to Combat Violence Against Women at The Carter Center, and preparing for a series of events at the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) in March 2019. Latin America and Caribbean Program

The Carter Center's Latin America and Caribbean Program seeks a qualified graduate student to provide in-depth monitoring and analytical reports that relate to electoral reform and campaign equity; freedom of expression and the protection of journalists; citizen participation; and strengthening of human rights policies.
