The Margaret and Robert Pastor Graduate Assistant Fellowship

The Carter Center is accepting applications for the Margaret and Robert Pastor Graduate Assistant Fellowship to work in the Americas Program during the summer of 2015. The Graduate Assistant conducts research for projects conducted by the Americas Program on such topics as elections, government-media relations, transitional justice, and democratic crises in the Western Hemisphere.

The Program is particularly interested in graduate students with a background in Latin American politics and democratization, and/or skills in social media mapping, media content analysis programs, campaign finance monitoring, or peace processes and conflict prevention strategies. Ability to read and write in both English and Spanish is required.

The Graduate Assistant position requires on-site presence at the Center in Atlanta, Georgia for ten weeks during the summer and a stipend of $3,500 will be offered. The Graduate Assistant works 40 hours/week at the Center, but may spend up to 10 additional hours/week on his/her own research. S/he is eligible to participate in the intern programs organized by the Center's Education Program, and may be invited to travel with the Americas Program staff.
