A New Look for an Enduring Legacy

The Carter Center is proud to launch our redesigned website, creating a more accessible, educational, and impactful experience as you seek to learn more about how we build peace and alleviate suffering across the world.

In speeches throughout his life, President Carter often quoted his beloved teacher, Miss Julia Coleman, who said that “we must adjust to changing times and still hold to unchanging principles.” The new website embodies that message, honoring the legacy of our founders while shaping their vision for a new era.

We are ready to reintroduce The Carter Center to the world. Both longtime champions of the Center and newcomers can easily navigate our updated pages, exploring human centered narratives about our work through a visually engaging format. We want everyone to clearly understand why we do what we do, as well as inspire people to become supporters of our values-first mission.

Produced in partnership with Wide Eye Creative, the new site modernizes how we communicate in powerful yet subtle ways.

  • A new interactive map allows visitors to see where we work, traveling across the Center’s past and present programs in more than 90 countries, showcasing the vast significance of our four-decade-long history.
  • Organization of our programs under Peace and Health tabs streamlines how visitors can dig deeper into detailed information about our work.
  • Our expanded focus on storytelling, elevated by eye-catching video and photography, makes clear the positive impact our work has on real people’s lives.

Since our founding in 1982, The Carter Center has served as a global leader by partnering with governments and international organizations to tangibly improve lives. Our transformed website prepares us to continue in that role for years to come. We’ll be waging peace, fighting disease, and building hope wherever the need is greatest, just as we have for decades.
