This study examines the roles of former community drug distributors (CDDs) following the elimination of onchocerciasis in previously endemic areas of Uganda and identifies factors associated with their continued engagement in health-related activities. By exploring the retention and utilization of this community-based workforce after the cessation of mass drug administration, the study provides insights into sustaining health system resilience, preserving elimination gains, and leveraging local capacity for broader public health initiatives.
