Join the 39-mile Walk Challenge

Honor Jimmy Carter’s Legacy by Joining the 39-mile Walk Challenge

This March, The Carter Center invites you to join a fun, health-conscious fundraiser that supports our mission to wage peace, fight disease, and build hope around the world.

In honor of the 39th president and the Center’s co-founder, Jimmy Carter, we’re challenging you to walk 39 miles during March and raise money by asking your friends and family to support your effort.

Open to all levels of ability, you can complete this challenge in your own way and at your own pace, all while raising money to continue President Carter’s proven strategies to advance human rights and alleviate suffering.

Last year, more than 12,000 people participated in our 39-Mile Walk Challenge, raising nearly $300,000 through peer-to-peer fundraising. This year, we’re aiming even higher — and we need your help to get there.

Here’s how to get involved:

Every step you take and every dollar you raise will help The Carter Center continue its work in more than 90 countries. And you’ll be helping honor President Carter’s legacy — one mile at a time.
