Carter Center Appoints Jim Reed as Board of Councilors Chair and Adds 13 New Members

ATLANTA (April 13, 2026) — Jim Reed, YKK Corporation of America president, has been appointed chair of the Carter Center’s Board of Councilors for 2026. The board comprises members who serve as a leadership advisory group that promotes understanding among opinion leaders and the broader community of The Carter Center and its activities.

As Board of Councilors chair for 2026, Reed follows outgoing chair Clark Dean, executive managing director of Transaction Sciences, Transwestern. Since its founding in 1987, the Board of Councilors has been led by some of Atlanta’s most distinguished civic leaders.

Jim Reed has served as president of YKK Corporation of America since 2017 and has worked at the company since 2009. Jim serves on the board of directors of the Rotary Club of Atlanta and the Japan-America Society of Georgia and is chair of the board of the World Affairs Council of Atlanta. Jim joined the Board of Councilors in 2018 and served as vice-chair from 2024-2025.

The Board of Councilors has also appointed 13 new members, bringing total membership to 241. Following are the new councilors:
