Rosalynn and I are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman. His voice for peace and tolerance in the Middle East will be missed. He was a wise counsel and ally to me in the White House. After the White House, I was grateful for his support in our efforts to eradicate Guinea worm disease from the world. We extend our condolences to members of the royal family.
