Educational Programs

The Carter Center offices in Atlanta will reopen to staff in November. Interns and graduate assistants who wish to do so may also work in-person from the Atlanta offices, contingent upon providing proof of vaccination. However, there will continue to be no expectation that interns or graduate assistants relocate to Atlanta or come in to the office. If you have any questions, we encourage you to reach out to us at EducationalPrograms@cartercenter.org.

For more than 35 years, the Carter Center Educational Programs have provided more than 3,000 interns and graduate assistants with a rewarding complement to classroom experience. Carter Center interns and graduate assistants come from around the world and make vital contributions to the Center's work. In turn, the Center provides a substantive learning experience that serves as a basis for the students to explore their career options and attain professional skills. The goal of Educational Programs is to develop an informed and skilled work force committed to advancing peace and health worldwide.

Effective August 2021, the Carter Center internship will be a paid opportunity.
