The Carter Center Urges Guyana’s Political Parties to Submit Campaign Finance Reports

ATLANTA (Oct. 17, 2025)—Under Guyana’s Representation of the Peoples Act, political parties that contested the recent election are required to submit postelection financial reports to the Guyana Elections Commission within 35 days of the declaration of results.

With publication of the results in the Official Gazette on Sept. 16, these reports are due for submission to the chief election officer of GECOM imminently. The Carter Center encourages all parties to comply with this reporting requirement as a step toward fostering a culture of transparency and accountability.

The Carter Center will include recommendations related to campaign finance reform in its upcoming final report.
