Alexandra Sack, Ph.D., M.P.H., D.V.M.

Veterinarian Epidemiologist, Guinea Worm Eradication Program

Alexandra Sack joined the Guinea Worm Eradication Program in May 2023. Her work has focused on diseases of both human and veterinary importance in the U.S. and abroad and the role of local environmental and human factors in prevention. Sack received a Ph.D. in clinical and translational science from Tufts University, a Master of Public Health in global health from Harvard University, a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University, and a Bachelor of Science in biology from Birmingham-Southern College. She received further postdoctoral training at Duke University and the University of Notre Dame. There she worked on projects to prevent schistosomiasis by combining prevention programs with sustainable farming practices to improve health and food security in Madagascar and Senegal.
