April AC Webinar: Guinea Worm Update

When

April 21, 2026 4:00pm – 5:00pm EDT

This event was hosted by our Ambassadors Circle.

In 1986, an estimated 3.5 million people suffered from a debilitating parasitic disease, Guinea worm. Today, that number has been reduced to just 10 reported human cases in 2025.

This is more than progress — it is proof. Proof that sustained commitment, shared purpose, and belief in what’s possible can achieve seemingly insurmountable things. Together with partners, countries, and the communities themselves, we’re on the brink of eradicating the second human disease in history, after smallpox. And we’re doing it by changing behaviors and building trust in some of the most marginalized, complex, and hard-to-reach areas in the world.
