ATLANTA….Shyam K. Reddy, chief administrative officer and senior vice president of corporate development at BlueLinx Corporation, has been appointed chair of the Carter Center's Board of Councilors for 2020. The board comprises 215 members, who serve as a leadership advisory group that promotes understanding among opinion leaders and the broader community of The Carter Center and its activities.
"Shyam has demonstrated a sincere commitment to our mission since he joined the Board of Councilors in 2014," said Ambassador (ret.) Mary Ann Peters, Carter Center CEO. "We look forward to working even more closely with him in this new leadership role."
As Board of Councilors chair for 2020, Reddy follows outgoing chair Dan Cathy, chairman, president and CEO of Chick-fil-A, and past chair Reade Fahs, president and CEO of National Vision.
Reddy is a graduate of Emory University, the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, and the University of Georgia School of Law. Reddy has served as chief administrative officer and SVP for corporate development of BlueLinx Corporation since June 2019 and joined BlueLinx in 2015 as SVP, general counsel and corporate secretary. Prior to this, Reddy was senior vice president, chief administrative officer, general counsel, and corporate secretary of Euramax Holdings; regional administrator of the Southeast Sunbelt Region of the U.S. General Services Administration; and a partner and lawyer in the Atlanta law offices of Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton. Reddy is a member of the Rotary Club of Atlanta, and a trustee of The German Marshall Fund of the United States and The Woodruff Arts Center.
