HISTONCHO: A Dataset of Intervention Histories for Onchocerciasis Control & Elimination in Sub-Saharan Africa

Since 1974, onchocerciasis control efforts in sub-Saharan Africa have evolved through OCP, APOC, and, more recently, ESPEN, which has centrally compiled ivermectin MDA data since 2013. This paper introduces HISTONCHO, a comprehensive dataset of interventions from 1975–2022, highlighting its value for understanding past strategies, modelling their impact, and informing future onchocerciasis elimination efforts.
