Baby Matabishi serves as a tax and revenue analyst in the Carter Center’s Extractive Industries Governance Program in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In his role, he works to ensure that his country’s vast natural resources, and the wealth derived from them, are effectively managed to benefit local communities.

In this video, Matabishi describes how The Carter Center provides transparency and oversight of extractive industries in a manner that benefits the development of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time in the great outdoors — an interest that mirrors his commitment to protecting his country’s natural treasures for future generations.
