Alida Munkwa serves as an assistant in the Center’s Extractive Industries Governance Program in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Based in Lubumbashi, Munkwa is dedicated to ensuring that communities affected by mining and resource extraction benefit from the wealth derived from the land under their feet. Being able to visit these communities herself, Munkwa explained, proved why the work is so important.

In this video, Munkwa introduces us to her children and shares the classic dish she calls her favorite.
