Reflections on Electoral Resilience

The Carter Center and Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy and will co-host their sixth annual elections conference on Dec. 11 at The Carter Center in Atlanta.

This year’s conference will focus on lessons learned from the 2026 mid-term election cycle as well as forward-looking recommendations to support electoral resilience in the 2028 presidential election cycle. Conversations will examine the enduring challenges of contested elections in the United States and consider bipartisan solutions for safeguarding electoral integrity. This conference is free and open to media and the public with both in-person and livestream registration available. Preregistration is required.

The Baker Institute for Public Policy and The Carter Center have cooperated since 2020 to organize annual convenings that build on the legacy of the 2004 Commission on Federal Election Reform led by President Jimmy Carter and Secretary James A. Baker, III to provide bipartisan recommendations for electoral reform in the United States.
